The hot and sticky weather has descended upon us at the Jonesboro Country Club and it does not appear to be leaving any time soon!! We are happy to report that despite the high temperatures the amount of play has not decreased! There were several club sponsored events during the month of July and the numbers in all of them were up from last year as the membership came out to support the club with a vengeance!! It is great to see so much participation by the membership, as you are what makes this club a success!!

The Simmons First Red Wolf Classic was a huge success this year, as the event introduced a new main sponsor to all players and volunteers. We had 92 two-man teams competing in this event which helps raise money for the ASU Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams. Both Coach Steve Johnson as well as the new women’s coach M J Desbiens were out and around the golf course meeting and greeting players and volunteers throughout the weekend. The weather was perfect for this event, as we were able to handle the heat wave that was in the area. Unfortunately, a late thunderstorm forced a rain delay of about 45 minutes and thankfully the lightning stopped and we were able to get the guys back on the golf course to finish play.
