The spring season is upon us and we are anxiously awaiting the return of the warm, sunny weather. Be sure to get your golf clubs out of the closet and shine them up for the 2008 golf season!
The 2008 golf season will begin with a bang on April 19 & 20, as we will be hosting the JCC Fun Fest scramble. This is a 2-man scramble event that costs $250 per team or $300 per team with a cart. It is filling up quickly! In fact the 1pm Shot Gun is already full and the 8am shot gun is getting fuller by the day! If you would like more information regarding this event, please call us at 932-2410 and we will be happy to help.
The 2008 golf schedule has been set and I would like to post the upcoming events to be held at Jonesboro Country Club:
April 14 M.G.A. Night (5pm)
April 19 & 20 JCC Fun Fest
April 24 Hytrol Outing (1:30pm)
May 10 JHS Alumni Golf Tournament
May 12 M.G.A. Night
May 13 L.G.A. 4-Gal Scramble (AM)
May 26 Memorial Day Scramble
This schedule will get everyone off and running and I shall update it next month. If you would like a copy of the club’s tournament schedule, please stop by the pro shop.
With the beginning of spring comes the beginning of Mixed Pairs Evening Golf League. The Opening Night will be held on Saturday, April 26, and it will be a 4-person scramble. It will be a “Margarita Mixer” and play will begin at 2:00pm. For more information concerning this program, please contact the golf shop.
Just a quick reminder to all members about the driving range hours for the 2008 golf season. Until April 15th the driving range will be open as follows:
Weekdays 9:00am – 6:00pm
Weekends 8:00am – 6:00pm
After April 15th the driving range hours will be as follows:
Tuesday thru Sunday 8:00am – 7:00pm
Also, remember that you can only hit 4 iron and down. NO DRIVERS or FAIRWAY WOODS ARE ALLOWED DOWN AT THE RANGE!
Beginning April 16th the Pro Shop will be open from 8am until dark every day until further notice.
The Junior Golf Program brochures have been sent out and are available in the golf shop. Be sure to stop by or call the golf shop if you have any questions regarding this program. The kids will have a fun-filled time learning this game they can play for a lifetime.
The golf shop has new merchandise arriving daily and I would like to encourage everyone to stop by and take a look around. There are new JCC logo golf shirts from Fairway & Greene, Adidas, Jamie Sadock & TAIL clothing, head covers, and all the latest in golf club technology. There are clubs from Taylor Made, Ping, Callaway, Cleveland and Titleist on display in the pro shop, so be sure to stop by and check them out!!
The Spring Special in the pro shop is ready to begin and the men will enjoy having the Sun Ice & Gear for Sport sweaters and windshirts on sale for 40% off retail. There are various colors, styles and sizes available. For the ladies we have a sales rack that has everything marked down 50%, so be sure to stop by and begin getting ready for the 2008 golf season!!
