GARY JONES

Gary has been the Director of Tennis at the Jonesboro Country Club since November of 2005.  He came to JCC from Little Rock, by way of Lake Village, Arkansas.  He has been a tennis pro for 19 years and has been a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association since 1990.  Gary has been named the Arkansas Tennis Pro of the Year three times, twice by the Arkansas Tennis Association (2000, 2002), and once by the United States Professional Tennis Association (1999).  He was also honored with the Barbara Brewer Community Service Award in 2005 in recognition of his contributions and dedication to the development and promotion of tennis in Arkansas communities.  He has competed at the very highest levels of Arkansas tennis for the past two decades, having been on several state champion 5.0 teams, as well as being ranked as the #1 men’s open player in 1990 and again in 2000. 

Gary married Paula in December 2006.  She is a very active tennis player and has competed on several of JCC's teams since arriving in Jonesboro.  She also works with Gary in the tennis office and sometimes even helps out on the court!  Together, they bring a dedication to the Jonesboro Country Club to build the tennis program to new heights.
