Tennis Information

Adult Tennis Social (May 6, 7pm):  This will be a 10-point tiebreak doubles tournament. You will need to find a permanent partner to play with.  Each team will get to play at least four times and hopefully more.  We will provide the food, and there will be a cash bar.  Cost is $10.  We will be playing tennis inside and out, weather permitting.  Come out and have a good time with us!  Hope to see you there!

2.5, 3.5, 4.5 State Tournament (May 20-23):  We should have several teams going to state this

weekend.  Hopefully you will see lots of our players practicing outside in the weeks before!!

Resurfacing Indoor Courts (May 23-27):  The JCC Tennis Centre will be closed for several days the week before Memorial Weekend so that we can do some maintenance on the courts and building.  The big thing we will be doing is resurfacing the indoor courts.  They have not been resurfaced as long as anyone can remember, and they need it.  I will be putting out more info as we get closer.  We still plan on doing the junior clinics outside during that week!

Arkansas Junior Qualifying Tournament (May 27-30):  This tournament is one of the two biggest tournaments in the state for juniors.  It is worth more ranking points than any other tournament.  Please make plans for your competitive junior to play in this tournament.  For more information call me at 932-6556.

Memorial Day Tennis Social (May 30):  We will be starting our social at a later time so that people can either sleep later, play in the golf scramble, eat hamburgers and hotdogs, or just relax at the pool.  We will be starting at 3pm and will go until 6pm.  Beer and soft drinks will be provided.  There will not be a charge, so all the more reason to come out and have some fun and play some tennis!!! See you on the patio!!

Tennis Court Light Etiquette:  Now that spring and summer tennis is here we will have lots of players playing outside.  If you are the last one to leave in the evening, please make sure that you turn off the lights.  The switch is red, and it is right by the electrical boxes.  These lights are on a timer that will only let the lights come on between the hours of 6:30pm and 10pm.  But if you finish at 8:30, please shut them off manually.  They are very expensive to run.  Thanks for your help!

Summer Junior Schedule:  Our summer junior class schedule is done. You can go to our website (www.jcclub.com) to see the entire schedule, or you can call 932-6556 or email (tennis@jcclub.com) the office and I will send you a copy.  We will take the week after Memorial Day off, and then start the Summer Junior Clinics on June 6.  We hope that all of your juniors will join us this summer in learning and playing the lifelong game of tennis!
