TENNIS NEWS

Spring is upon us and our adult team tennis season is in full swing.  We have 12 adult team tennis teams playing out of JCC this spring, which means that there will be lots of matches to watch throughout April.  Please come out and support our teams any time you see them playing.

All of the indoor lights have been changed out at the Tennis Centre.  We will begin a rotation that will let us replace the bulbs every three years and therefore will help us keep the lighting up to par with the rest of the facility. Over time, the lights lose their brightness and it is better to replace them on a rotation basis rather than replace them only when they burn out.  Come over and see what a difference new lights make!!

Team tennis season also means that the courts will be full more often.  For those of you wanting to play, please call the pro shop at 932-6556 as early as possible to reserve a court.  One day in advance is usually enough time to be able to get one.

Junior team tennis will be starting soon and I will be dividing the juniors into teams that will start practicing on Saturdays.  These teams will be just like the adult teams in that they will play a local league here in Jonesboro and then advance and play in the state tournament at Burns Park in North Little Rock on July 11-12. If you have a junior who might be interested in   playing, call the pro shop at 932-6566 for more information.

Mark your Calendars for the next Friday Night Adult Social!!!  It will be May 2 starting at 7pm.  We will divide up teams and have a friendly little competition just like we did last time.  The cost will be $15 and will include beer, wine and finger foods. I want to have this organized before we begin so you will need to call and sign up ahead of time.  The number is 932-6556.  See you then..!
